Building Hope Across Borders: Rotary SuperBuild

Mar 25, 2025

SuperBuild 2025 is scheduled for May 3, 2025, continuing a longstanding service tradition led by Rotary District 5300, which represents over 2,500 members across 63 clubs in Southern California and Southern Nevada. On this day, Rotary members will gather in Tecate, Mexico, to build one or two homes in partnership with the nonprofit Corazón.

Since 2008, this cross-border initiative—known as SuperBuild—has provided homes for dozens of families in Northern Mexico. Each 16-by-20-foot home costs $18,500 and includes not only building materials but also school uniforms, books, and scholarships for the family’s children.

The event is organized by our sister club, the Rotary Club of Las Vegas Summerlin, and brings together Rotarians from throughout the district. Some clubs contribute funding, others send volunteers to help build, and many support in both ways. It’s a meaningful example of how Rotary clubs collaborate to serve beyond their immediate communities.

SuperBuild reflects the global reach of Rotary and the power of partnership across clubs. For members seeking opportunities to engage in international service, build friendships across the district, and make a direct impact, projects like this represent the heart of what Rotary is all about.
