What is Rotary?

Rotary International is one of the world’s largest service organizations, made up of approximately 33,000 autonomous clubs in over 200 countries and geographic areas. Each club reflects the professional and community interests of its members while contributing to global service goals.

Who can join Rotary?

Rotary is open to people from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds who want to make a positive impact in their community. If you’re service-minded, interested in building connections, and able to participate in club activities, we’d love to hear from you. Most of our members live or work in the local area, but anyone is welcome to reach out and learn more.

Is membership by invitation only?

Technically, yes. One distinction of Rotary is that membership is by invitation. In most cases, a current member invites a guest to attend one or more meetings to learn about the club. If it feels like a good fit, the member may submit the guest’s name to the Membership Committee for consideration.

What if I don’t know anyone in Rotary?

If you’re interested in joining but don’t currently know a Rotarian, you’re still welcome to reach out. You can visit a Thursday morning meeting or contact us directly to start the conversation.

Why is membership important to Rotary?

Membership is essential to everything we do, from planning service projects to building community partnerships. One of our goals at the Rotary Club of Green Valley is to continue growing with people who are ready to contribute their time, skills, and ideas.

What is the time commitment?

We encourage members to attend weekly meetings and take part in service activities throughout the year. We understand that schedules vary, and there are many ways to stay involved even if you are not able to attend every meeting.

Is there a cost to join?

Yes, there are membership dues. We also offer a lower-cost membership option for younger professionals or those who prefer to attend without breakfast. Feel free to contact us for details.

Can I visit before joining?

Absolutely. We encourage prospective members to attend a meeting as a guest. It’s the best way to get a feel for what we do and who we are.
