Hoolihan’s Christmas For Kids

Mar 24, 2025

Each December, the Rotary Club of Green Valley leads a meaningful community service project in partnership with the City of Henderson to support local students during the holiday season.

Hoolihan’s Christmas for Kids is an annual holiday gift drive held at Robert L. Taylor Elementary School in Henderson, NV. In 2024, the event took place on Wednesday, December 11, bringing together volunteers to distribute books, toys, and personal care items to every student at the school. For many of these children, the gifts they receive through this initiative may be the only ones they receive during the holidays.

This tradition was started by the late Jon Hoolihan, a Henderson-based businessman, philanthropist, and longtime Rotarian who believed every child deserved to feel special and remembered during the holidays. His legacy lives on through the continued support of community volunteers and partners.

The Rotary Club of Green Valley, located in Clark County, Nevada, is part of a global network of community service organizations dedicated to making a local impact. Our members include professionals, business owners, and residents from Henderson and Las Vegas who come together to support projects that promote youth development, education, and community well-being.

Volunteer opportunities with the Rotary Club of Green Valley range from seasonal drives like this one to ongoing programs that serve families, students, and seniors across the region. Participating in events like Hoolihan’s Christmas for Kids is one way residents can contribute to a stronger, more connected Southern Nevada.
